Another dating failure
Last week, a girl on Bumble swiped right on me. I swiped right back.
Often times at this point, they would never message me. She messaged me.
We exchanged some texts. Turned out we had some things in common.
On Thursday night, we video chatted. There were some moments of awkward silence, but we had a lot of god conversations. It lasted nearly 3 hours. I asked about video chatting tomorrow. She agreed.
The first red flag came when she didn't message me at all on Friday. Nonetheless I asked her if she was ready to video chat. She said sure. For this video chat, I had planned to show her some posts from a Facebook page about ADHD, because both her and I have it. But when I start scrolling thru I don't find a whole lot of stuff and she didn't have much of a response when I did share something with her that her and I could relate to. This has failed, and there was a lot of awkward silence during the video chat. Another thing that happened was that she had brought up the recent riots, and I then stated that I thought it was ridiculous that people are basically punishing all of law enforcement because of one bad officer. She didn't respond negatively to that, but on saturday night I'm texting my mom and it turns out I didn't realize that there's more than just that one incident in Minnesota. I felt awful about possibly sounding cold hearted to my mom and to the bumble girl.
The girl let me go after an hour of video chatting to play an online game with friends. Before we hung up I asked if she wanted to exhange numbers. I only gave her my number. I texted her(on the bumble app)the next morning asking her how that went, but she never responded.
Feels sad to be ghosted after it went as far as it did. I wasn't yet sure about her romantically but I felt that we could at least be friends because of the things we had in common. Don't know what else to say.
God conversations? Wow! May be you should have asking her out instead for a next video chat. Video chats lack eye contact and body contact.
