On the one hand I am vastly more empathic then neurotypicals. On the other hand my reactions are Spock like. How do you resolve your contradictions?

I don't give such contradictions much thought regardless of the situation that creates them.

In what way does this have anything to do with love and dating?

Being vastly more empathic has nothing to do with love?

The second sentence in the OP addresses the question, "does love require you to be emotionally demonstrative?

I'd say it depends on the person you love.

What makes your SO feel loved?

A quick bit of research on the Internet revealed:
* Aspies are bullied much more than their typical peers. Perhaps as much as 95% of male Aspies experience bullying in school. This does entails physical assaults.
* Normally bullying peaks during Junior High School for boys.

Aspies carry the scars from bullying all our lives.

Because of the pain we felt, we can feel the pain of others. As a result many of us have are compassionate and caring, and many maintain the belief in the possibility of positive relationships. But in so doing we have learned to create a strong shell around us to protect us. Several Aspies have learned to separate the emotional side of our brain from our analytical side and completely turn off our emotional side (like Mr. Spock) and spin up our analytical side when we are under stress to resolve the stressor.
