Whats the opposite of the stereotypical nuclear family of the 1950s?

No kids, female breadwinner & stay at home male?

Or another alternative?

There's obviously no one "opposite." There are a huge number of possibilities.

I guess polygamist and polyandry and polyamory and stuff like that.Or a whole extended family under one roof. Both parents live off of business and investing income or off the land or a commune of some sort would be another opposite of the nuclear family.Or maybe the 1st Century early Christians who held everything in common and had no private property and live in a house together .I picture something like that being way different than the stereotypical 1950's nuclear family living the American Dream of the 1950's.

Men and women who simply don't want or have children..

maybe not the opposite, but it is different from that.

Opposite - no. Alternative - examples: living in extended family settings; communes; not having kids.

I dont know but the most opposite extreme I can think of would be like the family structure of the Children of God or a bunch of celibate monastic--like men and women who live together and have no sexual activities.or maybe a man and a woman have a spiritiual and platonic relationship similar to the bond of marrige but without the sexual attraction who live together and are asexual or celibate for life.Or people like Warren Jeffs.

Maybe David Koresh or the Austin,Texas Polyamous real-life vampire king but the most opposite i can think of or the Playboy Mansion or King Solomon's harem described in the Bible because it says he had 1000 women.

Good point about monastery life - I think, among universally practiced lifestyles, it's the farthest away from nuclear family.

ya I guess I mentioned since Heaven's Gate was like that even though it was not like Catholic monks or nuns but they lived a life very similar to that despite living together plus they did not believe in gender because they thought hey were neither male nor female and they dressed very androgenously ....they thought they were genderless aliens living in human bodies and they alll considered themselves family. And Applewhite and several of the men had themselves fixed. And there was coin toss to see who would go first so if if I had to pick which example would be the abolute most opposite or at least most different it couuld be that.
