This is actually similar to the Sofia Jirau story (she's the Victorian Secret Model with Downs). On the one hand the participants in the show get an opportunity to get publicity and become TV stars. Some of them are certainly role models.

On the other hand they are also vulnerable. I appreciate how reality TV shows people when they are at their most vulnerable anyway and creates life drama that viewers often eagerly follow. But I do wonder how some (particularly the young men) might see themselves afterward? whether they might feel humiliated?

I am also not sure what the success rate is? The successful couples appearing on the program appear to have already met before being cast on the show.

Oh ok why men more than women?

Oh that's easy....men have a much harder time than women to find love (regardless of background), When you add a diagnosis of autism the order of magnitude difficulty goes up considerably. Again don't want to generalise but judging from posts on this forum plenty of young men on the spectrum have disclosed issues with clothes, personal hygiene and attitude.

That's why you see more men on these shows. Like dating apps.

Oh yeah that makes sense. However why do you women care more about a guy being autistic compared to men not caring so much with women are?

Because young women have much more choices and can afford to be picky

But do women have more choices than men because there are more men in the population or what causes that?

No because in western countries 90% of women want to marry the top 10% of men. When they can't get the top 10% they compromise their aspirations accordingly to the lowest common denominator.

This means there are millions of women in western countries who would prefer to stay single/childless than get married to men whom don't meet their standards.

As a result there are millions of men who will never find a life partner.

many women are also "sharing" the alpha males IOW they're agreeing to participate in a quasi-harem arrangement.

But why do women prefer that over not going for someone they can get if that's true? Why is being single better than settling for a non-top 10 or so?

Oh yeah, okay, but why is that better than going for a non-alpha that will commit instead?

I just don’t believe in that “alpha” crap.

Or that women “share” alpha men.

Or that 90%/10% stuff.

It’s all a load of beans.

for women it fulfills a darwinistic need to pair their genes with the best male genes to insure the best chances for perpetuating their own genetic lines.

But why are guys willing to accept average women with more average genes, but women are not willing to on their end?

men put out millions of sperm all over the place, shotgun approach which is efficient at spreading their genes around, but women have only one or two eggs to spare for the task so they have to make them count and choose their genetic complements carefully.

Women are definitely pickier than men. I knew this girl that was a solid 4 (with makeup on) with several personality and character flaws. She rejected me despite being around equal in looksmatch and only considers 8+ men.

But if women act this way won't many of them be relationship-less until they are 40 and finally cave maybe? Plus they say men are more about looks than women but this does not seem to be the case if most women only go for 8+?
