I haven't had a real life serious relationship since 2008.
I had an online relationship in 2016 if it counts?

Anyone who fancies me just wants me for sexual fun.
But I never get any luck anymore with anyone wanting to date me or more.

I'm feeling really sad about it.

Hey, it's not our fault that we're really, really, ridiculously good looking.

And I totally agree with the. OP. It can be hard enough for us to find love or even identify potentially interested partners to chat up without all the flirting from people looking for a cheap ego boost at our expense. And that's before the challenges that often come from trying to chat people up.

Joke all you like, but it is a problem. When I was in my 20s-30s, I had more than my share of casual encounters, but a bit of time in my company made the ladies realize I was just to weird to be relationship material. So, a fair amount of sex but no one to be with. Lonely.

Well it's different if you're straight. If you should find yourself alone with a naked girl who's giving you a hand job after having done for yourself your entire life, you're going to keep seeing her for as long as she's willing to get naked with you. You won't care what sort of music she prefers or her political beliefs, in other words the sex is sufficient basis for a relationship, at least short-term until interpersonal conflicts put too much strain on said relationship. Gay people have too many options or not depending on one's point of view.
