The other night one of my male friends sat on my knee for a bit of a joke. I then said “I would rather a woman sit on my knee” then someone in the group said in response “Beggars can’t be choosey”.
I don’t understand his comment because as a heterosexual male why should I be grateful for a guy sitting on my lap

I say it’s a bit of an insult personally like I can’t get any women. In my life more guys have sat on my knee than females
On that subject to the guys of wrong planet has a lady ever sat on your lap as a form of flirtation? The last time a girl sat on my lap when flirting with me was at a house party nearly 10 years ago and she was drunk.

As a woman, I wouldn’t sit on some random guy’s lap. That would just be really weird.
This has nothing to do with looks.
I’d rather sit on the floor or in a comfy chair.

I was at the bar 5 years ago and there was this lanky blonde 6ft5 guy and 2 women sat on his lap at the same time

The fact that you are a heterosexual male who can't entice a female to sit on his lap is the joke, and suggests you are so desperate that anyone sitting on your lap should be welcome to you.
The correct response is to return the banter, not take insult.
It's social 'ribbing' and those who can't give back a good response tend to become the butt of every joke, because they know they can get a 'rise' out of you, and this puts them one up on you.
For example, in response to "beggars can't be choosey" you could reply, "Even a beggar wouldn't want an ape sitting on their lap."
Suggesting your friend is an ape and putting the insult back on them.
This only works with good friends, of course, not acquaintances.
It's how many males bond, believe it or not.

Guys can like the idea of it all they want to. It doesn’t mean it’s happening.

Guys can like the idea of it all they want to. It doesn’t mean it’s happening.
Is that because women don’t like the male body as much as vice versa?
