Are we boring if we are less promiscuous?

I seem to remember seeing a video I saw once of people debating on whether a sober and less promiscuous rock star is more appealing or just as appealing as one who has had more sex and taken drugs and so on. It talked about the assumption that they are "boring" than those bands or musicians who had a more "wild" time with lots of sex and drugs. I seem to think that even if you are not a musician or in a band and just someone with less friends and so on that I must "boring" because I wasn't experiencing going out having a drink more often and having any experience with sex and that come across to some people that if you haven't had any experience of sex then there must be something "wrong".

We all find different things boring and interesting, so it depends on one’s perspective.

If the greatest thing a person can bring to a relationship is promiscuity then they are the poster child of boring.

It does make me think though how did all these legendary musicians like Kurt Cobain or Jagger or Keith Richards from the rolling stones concentrate on writing their music if they were on drugs all the time otherwise the lyrics and the music would have been gibberish. Maybe some of it was gibberish.

I lost my virginity to my wife at 39 and nobody has ever accused me of being boring.

Musicians should be judged by their music, not by what they do in bed -- as long as their partners are consenting and of legal age, at least. (Being a musician is no excuse for rape or sexual exploitation of underage groupies.)

A musician is boring if, and only if, their music is boring. How many sex partners they've had, or not had, should have nothing to do with this.

It depends if they are boring on stage. What people see. Certain YouTube channels do well, because of how the host presents themselves on the channel, instead of just a voice, they interact for example, it is the target audience.

I don't know why some people may make assumptions that someone else maybe a virgin when they clearly don't know that person and just base that assumption on looks.

If you're only talking about rock stars and the such, then yeah, it probably is more boring to not be a strung out junkie because there's no mass media hype or interest around famous people who lack drama. Drama sells.

If you're talking about the general population also, then I guess it depends on how you define boring. Personally, I've known a lot of people over the years who were really boring humans but they engaged in some 'scandalous' behaviors. That didn't make them any more interesting or exciting, just scandalous and generally problematic in the long run.

People who live partyesque lifestyles are actually quite boring, they have nothing interesting to talk about because they don't spend their time time doing anything interesting. Imagine talking to someone who goes to other parts of the world to club and sleep with party animals from their own part of the world, get into VIP sections to do exactly what they could in the regular part of a club, do things "to see and be seen." I wonder what they all do when they are sixty and only have stories about Studio 54 to talk about.

People who dislike partying do tend to be more 'boring' than people who love that sorta thing but there are plenty of exceptions of coarse. That said, there are plenty of people who dislike partying who would also prefer a partner who's more stable & consistent. My 1st girlfriend had problems with drugs & alcohol was trying to quit when we became friends & became a couple. She fell back into old habits after awhile & cheated on me with her ex because he gave her coke. Shortly after we broke up she was bragging online about how she drank so much she had to get her stomach pumped. I fell into a psychotic depression around the time we broke up partly from all the stress & panic attacks I was having worrying about her :wall: That certainly was NOT boring but I would chose to be bored with a partner any day than deal with that sh!t again & I was straight-edge for about 8 years after that relationship ended.

This is the theme song for my current relationship rite now & the reason why I'm not on the forum much these days. I'd rather hang out with Cass in front the TV than leave her alone in the living-room so I can use my desktop in my bedroom.

You might be boring to someone seeking to hookup with you if you're not interested in casual sex. You might not be boring to someone who's interested in the same things as you and wants to have a conversation or friendship/relationship with you based on those common interests whether they be literature, video games, sports, race car driving, swimming.. whatever. Different strokes for different folks.
