We broke up over a stupid thing, password sharing.

Did he want you to give him your password to something?

Password sharing isn't a stupid reason imo

Considering you haven't met the guy in person and he is presumably asking for your password(s)?

That seems like a major red flag.

Yes,I told him he lives in a different country, it may not work, he should have believe me, but instead he told me that I don’t trust him.

It sounds like he was trying to manipulate you into feeling guilty. You shouldn’t give your passwords to anyone. You did the right thing. I’m sorry that you had to deal with that.

Why didn’t he believe me? A man should believe his girlfriend. Giving him my password probably won’t work, I’m in California & he lives in France.

I don’t think he was being honest with you. He probably does believe you. He might be trying to make you feel guilty so you’ll give him your password. What is the password for?

My thoughts exactly.

Did he ask for your email password, also, Kitty? If so it might have even been the case that he was trying to get money out of you. It happens online and scammers like to target vulnerable people.

Was it something you were asking for help with?
Maybe we can help you (without needing your password).

I'm very sorry this happened but I'm proud of you for not giving your password.
You did the right thing, Kitty.

It wouldn't matter if he was in France or not.
He could still hurt you with access to your password(s).

I think you've said that you have never met him. Have you known him only online but for many years? That could still be a red flag that he is not trustworthy.

Regardless, I am sorry and you must be feeling sad. Hugs.
