I strongly disagree with the tip: try some light touch. If a person has a trauma history, they could be extremely triggered by that. The cons outweigh the pros with that one unless you already know the person very well and are sure they’d be okay with it.

I think a woman touching a man without his permission would be more likely to elicit a positive response than a man touching a woman without her permission.

It may seem like double standards, but men are more easily pleased and women more likely to be displeased in such a scenario, I would think.

I heard that women can flirt by lightly touching a guy's elbow.

I'm not sure what that's about.

I wouldn't want anyone to touch my hair unless it was at least a first date.

I actually did try it, consciously, on my first date with my partner.
We were walking our dogs and I touched his elbow for balance when walking up a hill.


I asked him about it years later but he didn't remember it.

People don't think TP is worth walking to her car, calling to see if she made it home safely even though she barely slept the night before (I checked up on him the next day), opening any doors for her, saying that she looks nice, or buying her a meal even when she drove really far to see him, the date was going well, and we had a lot in common. I would've been happy if he could've done ONE of those things, just something to give the impression that he actually gave a f**k. Instead, he made everything about himself and his personal comfort. Even if he wasn't into me, it would've been considerate to be considerate. I'm glad I turned down the second date. I regret not being more assertive sooner.
