Should you get a pet as a pre-requisite to a romantic

Relationship?

I was thinking that it should be a pre-requisite for people to get a pet before entering a romantic relationship and ESPECIALLY before deciding to have a child!

A pet is an entry-level type of relationship which you can use to eventually jump into a real human romantic relationship

Or they can be used in place of a romantic relationship

What do you think?

No, a pet isn't going to help one practice having a romantic partner.

Unless they plan on treating partners like pets, or worse, their pet like a partner. :eew:
