Getting To Know Someone
I'm on a dating site, I'm talking to a guy I met 9 days ago, I'm struggling so much to ask questions to get to know him. I haven't told him about my Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Psoriasis & Learning Disabilities, I HATE telling guys what I have & I have to tell him I'm living in group home & I'm not working.
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling so much, Kitty. The beginning stages of online dating are really hard. Especially when you have to try to keep the conversation flowing. Have you tried looking up question lists? A quick google can give you a bunch of ideas. That's usually what I did when I was trying to figure out what to ask a guy next. Especially if he gave me some dead-end answer to my previous question that didn't naturally lead to any questions.
As for the disabilities and life circumstance, I completely understand why you would hate telling them. It's always best to be open and honest, but some things aren't necessary to know upfront. For example, I wouldn't volunteer information about my living situation (except that I'm not alone, and therefore people will be concerned if I don't come back) until I knew a guy a little better. I was also vague when it came to disabilities, unless they directly effected the date. So, as another example, I have zero night vision due to a medication side effect. Which meant I had to turn down dates to go out after dark and instead request to meet during the day. A number of guys immediately stopped talking to me after I stated any disability, but that's fine. Anyone who doesn't want to deal with you isn't worth your time.
I hope things work out well for you and you meet somebody great
