This is something I've wondered for awhile; most crushes I have end in disaster as the girl usually gets scared of me somehow. To which I wonder just now "is it possible to perseverate on a girl like anything else?" and is it really stalking per-se.

Discuss your opinions, prior experiences, etc.

I think stalking implies that you are following her around and pestering her.

You should just ask them are they interested in you, do they want to go on a date or whatever during the first conversation and then if you get negative responses just make it clear you're through with them and they're no longer a part of your life. Never let things be ambiguous if you want to be safe.

8O *Blinks* Ummm...you're assuming that everyone possesses the nerve to actually speak to those they find attractive... :(

What's with all the friends?
How could I get a friend to introduce me to the object of my affection if I am in fact a loner who is obsessed about the most popular boy in school...?

That was the example with me in it. As for guys stalking girls; There are no aspie-stalkers. To qualify one must be a male refugee in Southern Europe, and follow blonde girls around all day at the beach and try and drug them........

Not to that extent. Guys i've obsessed over I watch from afar. I try and find out as much as I can about them secretly, but it wouldn't be classed as stalking.

I never said stalking. How many people are treated as if that was what they were doing? As in actually meaning well (NOT wanting to drug beach blondes in Southern Europe) but being unable to communicate effectively, being unable to read hidden social cues, etc. thus scaring the person of your desires? How many of you have been socially ostracized, randomly had your car jacked so authorities could have a "talk" with you, and have had your life turned into a living hell?

I have stalked, to be honest it's only instinct. I only stalk at dances and again, it's instictive. I try to work up the confidence to confront the person while following them to assure I never lose the opportunity, other times it's on accident. Yes, I've accidentally stalked before. She's still friends with me, I wonder...

MagicMike: I don't get the question. I have "stalked" someone when I was 13 and had a crush on a boy but I have been professionally stalked by alot of dodgey ugly guys most places I have been to. I guess so called "stalking" could be annoying, but charming at the same time.....

Could you please explain this a little better? Also, when you guys say 'stalking', are you talking about sitting around being obsessive-compulsive, or going out and doing something socially unacceptable?

I don't stalk, nor do I have anyone I'd want to stalk, but I have been accused of it once when I googled someone's name to find their MSN alias. But I usually do that- I like to know as much as I can about someone before I speak with them, its only common sense really. Know the situation, be prepared. Or something like that...

So you can all be assured that if you have ever posted a link to a personal site on this forum, I've probably checked it out from top to bottom.
