I'm just wondering... is there anywhere other than college campuses that college girls (or any college people for that matter) tend to go to? The college I go to (New Jersey Institute of Technology) is, by nature, a nerd school, and that means that the male:female ratio in most of my classes is 7:1 at best, and the women that are there are usually people in their upper 20's to low 30's trying to get that engineering degree for their job (in comparison, I'm 19). So, yeah, there's not that many women my own age that I even know, let alone stand a chance with. I commute, meaning that I'm only there for my classes and then I leave, and I don't see anyone else my own age (of any gender) outside of college, so I don't know what I'm going to do...

There must be cultural and community events in your area. In addition, coffee houses seem to be springing up all over and you
can go for the entertainment, if you don't like coffee. Some people like to belong to a church that does community activities.

In my hometown, many college students join campus organizations that do volunteer work in the community...tutoring kids after
school, becoming involved with the Big Brother/ Big Sister Program (which always needs more males than females) with so many
kids growing up in single mother households these days... among other activities depending on your interests.

Look around...there's bound to be things you haven't really noticed.

I'm not the kind of person who would go to a bar for women... Usually, the women there are only there for drinks, and maybe a one-night stand. I'm not looking for any of that...

You seem to forget that the age group I'm looking for (18-22 range) just doesn't exist in the immediate area I live in. The town I live in is a real rich town, and most of the people who graduated HS with me went away for college. I'm the only one I know of that still lives in the area...

I've been to coffee shops before, can't say I find them very entertaining...

I'm fairly active in my church (one of the perks of still living at home), and I'm 95% sure that I'm the only college student that is there with any regularity...

Like I said before, the ratio of men to women on my campus is fairly unbalanced, to say the least... Plus, the fact that I commute means that I'm only at the campus for my classes and nothing else, I just go back home where there's nobody my own age around...

Heh. One of my former profs is an
alumni of NJIT. He made school theater
his route. A pretty classic 'nerd' type too.

Gods though, I absolutely HATED being in
northern NJ. I could never see myself finding
anyone there - either as friends or as a lover.
So damned isolated. And yeah, the coffee shops
suck there.

Location should be at larger college or university that where is the science labs are. Women-men ratio over there is like 7:2. So leave that college and go to that one!

how will there be more females than males at a science university? I was always under the impression that science was still a male-dominated field...
