I decided not to list celebrities, for a litany of reasons I will not relate.

But here's some "girls next door", so to speak -- girls like the kind you might actually meet IRL, as opposed to celebrities. I don't know who they are, I just did a generic google search.

Well, these sorts of girls aren't the type I would generally go for.
If we're talking about looks, which I guess we are unless you also mean their taste in clothing, I tend to go for women with a bit more 'meat on their bones'.

Females who look like the ones you posted aren't usually old enough for a 47 y.o. man to stare at, let alone approach... IMHO.

I believe most women do tend to have fuller figures which is what I prefer. I always wonder what it takes for women to get as skinny as the ones in your pics. Kinda worries me that their eating habits(purging habits too?) and their self-image may not be the healthiest.

But I could be wrong!

I certainly do not see a diversity in your selections other than real-life vs manga :P

Really? I thought she was a member here! :P

I'm not sure about his selection... mixing real people with drawings?
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

For some of us it takes no effort at all.

I'm as skinny as the blonde woman and 6' foot tall, and I really struggle to put weight on. I get tired of people telling me I should eat more and I'm too thin. I know they mean well but there's nothing I can do about it - no matter how much I eat or what I eat, I don't put on weight. I weigh the same now as I did when I was 15 and can still wear my school uniform quite comfortably 25 years later. The only thing that's changed is that my shoulders are slightly more muscular.

Interestingly (or maybe not!), as there are visibly more and more fat people around I get more and more comments to eat more and suggestions that I have an ED. I've even had strangers pass comment on the street, or out shopping.

I would like to be fatter - being skinny isn't all it's cracked up to be - but it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime unless I go on steroids :P

Thanks... I needed that!
Could I have been over-generalizing? Stereotyping?

I was seriously going to add in my post that I was not unaware of women who stay in healthy shape, yet can look that skinny.
Perhaps I should have?

I see your point about our population getting fatter and perhaps our minds are adjusting to that so we see 'skinny' women more & more as unhealthy?

What I found striking was that he chose pictures of women who basically all look the same to me other than hair color and some facial features (not counting the cartoon pics).

Being fat isn't all it's cracked up to be, either. Larger t-shirts (meaning XL, XXL, and higher) cost more than their smaller counterparts, you are seriously disadvantaged concerning any athletic activity (except football here in the States), inherent health problems (diabetes is a big one nowadays), and you STILL have people commenting on your weight (although you get suggestions to lose rather than gain).
Also, being thin carries less of a social stigma than being fat (although that trend seems to be inverting as of late when concerning celebrities).

Oh, and, uh... fat guys who also happen to be nerds never get women in life. Ever. At least being a rail can still get you somewhere...

PS: for the record, I would do girl #1 (although I voted "yes" by accident)

I picked Girl #4. She looks deep, and sad. Looks like she could identify with me. And I could gently cheer her up in my Aspie ways.

#4's eyes are spaced too far apart for my taste (although that may just be an artifact of whoever drew that, and not necessarily any intentional thing...)

Well, to each his own. I see your point, but their are no hard-and-fast rules and long as she's at least 18. Shoot, I don't even want an 18-year-old and I'm 28! Too much air between the ears, if you get my drift.

I know what you mean, but I think in the case of these girls it's just their genetics and that fact that they most surely exercise.
But my ex-wife had some padding, and I grew quite comfortable with it.
