I was just now at lunch, and heard this loud thud right outside the restaurant. A heavyset woman had tripped on a stair, and fallen forward, hard, flat on the ground. Her boyfriend just stood over her, glaring at her like an insensitive prick. She was on the verge of tears. He didn't even help her up. I couldn't hear what he was saying to her, but it wasn't anything good judging by his expression. Then, they both walked inside the restaurant (Subway), where she sat down at a table to rest and recover. He didn't even sit down with her. He just stood over her and glared at her silently for like five minutes.

Yes, I am. Could be husband, but I strongly doubt it.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there in relationships like that. It's sad and hopefully she will realize one day that's she's wasting time and effort on someone who doesn't deserve it. :(

I think it's even worse when they put on a concerned show for the public...at least it was obvious that he didn't give a dam*.

I think I would have had to say something to her, ask her if she was okay at least. :(

What makes you think they were a couple?

Trust me.

And the real issue is, if you see someone stumble and fall on the ground HARD, are you just going to stand there, or are you going to try and help her? (This is a toughy, I know... take your time...)
