Is she interested in me as more than a friend?

I could make a page long post with all the details, but I will condense it.

This girl has been flirting with me at work for the past month. Yesterday, I asked her where she is from. She did answer my question, but I was 100% expecting her to ask where me where I am from. She did not. It seemed like such an obvious respone for her to ask me where I was from. I didn't respond with anyting significant after she told me where she was from (didn't know what to say...what a surprise..huh?)

My question is....should I read into her not asking where I am from. I am not oblivious that flirting can be meaningless and does not necessarily mean interest in being more than a friend. If it matters, I am 26 and she is 21. I am not sure if the age difference means I need to carry more of the conversation.

I wouldn't read anything into that. You're probably going to need to give more details before anyone can give you an opinion about what's going on.

I know an obvious question is "Am I misreading her flirting with me as for just being nice". I could do a page of the times she has obviously been flirting with me. Let's assume the she has been flirting with me like she was intersted in me more than a friend. I just felt stoned when she didn't ask me where I was from. Maybe I should have said something else. No clue.

Like I said, I wouldn't read anything into the fact that she didn't ask you where you were from. There are a multitude of possible reasons why she might not have asked back. If she's been obviously flirting with you, and you're interested in her, ask her out on a date. Stop worrying about it and just do it.

I would have thought that if she is hot for you she WOULD have asked you where you are from. I find it very interesting that because she did'nt you see this as she liked you.

I hope it goes well keep us posted

does she 'flirt' with other people too? some people just like to be liked and admired and have attention. her not reciprocating the question may be because she is not interested in you but wants you to be interested in her.

Can you elaborate? I can't think of one.

I know I said above that she is flirting with me like she likes me more than a friend, but my mind is delusional, so I don't know. I have been burned by my delusional mind before.

I work with this girl, so I want to be sure there is some interest on her part. I don't want things to be awkward.

Exactly my thoughts

I don't know whether she flirts with other people. I haven't been in a social setting with her.

It's hard for me to list some of the possible reasons she might not have asked you back since I don't know the situation or her. I can say with 99.9% certainty though that the fact that she didn't ask back isn't a good indication that she's not interested if in fact she's been flirting with you for a month. I really do need more detail though to give you an honest opinion about the situation. If you don't want to post details for whatever reason, feel free to PM me.

I think the real question is whether she's really been flirting with you for the past month. Yes, some people (not just women) are naturally flirty and if you can't tell the difference between that and the real "I'm interested in you" type, you can get the wrong idea. Aspies aren't so great at discerning those differences (or at being able to tell when someone is flirting at all, for that matter).

Really, the only way you're going to be able to know for sure is to ask her out. I know that sucks, but unfortunately, that's the way it is.

By the way, why do you have two different user names? That kinda confused me for a moment...

If she's been flirting with you for over a month she's already asked around and knows where you're from. Remember...girls are sneaky.

I have mistaken a girl being nice for flirting in the past. It wasn't comfortable after the girl turned me down. Her being a coworker complicates things.

As for the username, I forgot the one I registered with so I created a new one. I didn't think to use username recovery until after I created a new one.

Do you have any friends at work who could assess the situation based on what they know of her and give you their take on things?

Is she going out of her way to interact with you on a regular basis, or are your interactions just passing hall conversations?

And what Beenthere said is true - if she really likes you , she probably already knows quite more about you than you realize.

Unfortunately no.

I thought Beenthere was joking. But I am not sure she could know where I am from.

I sent a private message to you.

I'll say to you what I say to anyone who asks this - the only way to be 99% sure if someone likes you is to ask, but it seems like this is a bit of an early stage for that.

Just flirt subtly with her as well and see where it goes from there.
