IL’s life is freakishly similar to my own, right down to the dog killer wanting me for my house. I did attack him in self-defence and went in hiding as a single mum. I didn’t die 24 years ago though. My former sister in law was a psychopathic wench but she didn’t sleep with my abuser. Rather she slept with his son. He was about 18 and she was about 35. She propositioned me but I turned her down.

Oh lord. You sound like you have had an eventful life, IL.

That’s not the half of it.

Or the eighth, either.

Likely not the tenth.

It really is freaky though, when I stop and look at parallels from the book.

My female cousin wanted to shag me too. Her husband was all for it.

I remember telling her it would make family reunions and grandparent funerals rather awkward.

The plot thickens.

You could write a book about these things!

After the latest round of great first dates and next-day precipitous letdowns, I've retired from dating.

My grandmother said she wouldn't die until I wrote a book about our family.
I opted not to, but she died anyway.
Thank goodness the funeral wasn't awkward, because I made good choices.

Ironically, my male cousin hit on me at the funeral.
He hadn't seen me in years and didn't realise who I was.
No, he wasn't the female cousin's brother.

His sister is the one who was trafficked to Mexico.
Still no news on her.

:(

You are very good at writing. Perhaps if you ever did decide to write a book of any description, you could change the names of characters in the book & base them on some of your life experiences.

I wrote a semi-autobiographical book about my trauma.
None of that stuff, or anything I've written on WP, is part of that.

I wouldn't be able to put most of these WP stories into a novel.
They'd maybe work as short stories or personal anecdotes.

Chances are people would think I was exaggerating.
Truth is stranger than fiction.

I’m planning on writing a book in the near future about my experiences for exJWs. We love books by other exJWs, no matter how badly written.

My mom knows of a family where two first cousins became romantically involved.
No real issues from the family over their relationship but s**t hit the fan when it ended.

Even if one doesn't see any moral issues with romantic relationships with relatives, and even if no power differential issues exist, the high potential for drama after things end should be a big disincentive.

Just like that joke says, just because you've divorced doesn't mean they're not still family.

It's true.

One of the first things that stands out about history is how many people would complain the author of reality wasn't being realistic when this or that real historic event happened.

Did you ever manage to get it published? Assuming you would have wanted to do that.

No, I wouldn't want to make my PTSD public by any means.
I felt enough shame and trauma disclosing details in court.

I wouldn't want my children or my family to know everything.
I need to protect their privacy too.

My real life isn't open for public consumption or critical reviews.

That's fair!
