bad camphortree

Basically ideally you need to get over the rejection and move on. How you do that is up to you. If you feel you can't bear to be around her without crushing then don't see her. If you feel you can focus on being her friend then do that.

Reason is rejection is normal. Even successful people get rejected but they have more resilience it seems.

The fact she only sees you as friend is a pretty clear message. Notice the word 'only'. This kind of rejection is good (although painful). It is clear and concise. Basically I realized that short term rejection is good, will help you move on. If you don't get a clear rejection, or get mixed messages it can really f**k you up.

This is her view you can’t do anything about it. She may change it later but don’t get you hopes up, it is best to assume she won’t. Nobody really dates out of pity and if they did it would be a disaster.

I think the norm is to forget about dating her and accept that you'll just be friends. Typically, in that kind of situation, the girl would make it obvious to you if she ever were to change her mind. Asking again without any indication that she has changed her mind could offend her and harm the friendship.

I think to myself screw her I'm to good for her. I'm very egotistical.

sh*g her friends?

not really. but be strong enough to stay away from her the moment you even begin to supsect that being in her company is going to make it more difficult to move on.

It's over with her, romantically. Don't try again. But that's okay, there's tons of other girls. Getting really hung up on her is a great way to ensure that you don't have a relationship with any girl - I'd advise against it.
