I find people rely on hatred of their loved one just to be able to survive the breakup.
That is unfortunate. I like this song because it looks dispassionately on the situation.

when you are in the depths of soul grief of a breakup, "I will survive" might be the only lifeline to wanting to recover you have. It's good to know before hand, to help after.

Also the Mine Herr and We'll Sing in the Sunshine show different attitudes that people actually have about relationships. Sort of a 'pre nup' for shacking up, I suppose.
