I own a diner and totally take offense to your statement.
This is not something that goes on in restaurants. I have worked in the industry for 40 years and have never seen anyone mess with someones food.
I hire good staff and keep it clean and have exceptional meals. We always get a good evaluation from the health department.
If someone comes in two minutes before we close then they get served. Hell, it takes us 1 1/2 to 2 hours to clean up anyway so what difference does it matter if someone is eating still.
Please don't buy into that hidden camera crap. Maybe that happens in a blue moon at places that are questionable. If you worry about this then go to your local Health department webite and look at the evaluations and select restaurants based on how many critical violations they have.
Don't be so offended, it's just something heard from others. I just said it happens, I never approved of it.
Besides, how would you know if it happened?
It wouldn't be that hard to do.
BTW, some of what you say isn't entirely true.
See, my dad worked at restaurant. His co-workers had a bottle of pee that they would sprinkle onto someone's food if they didn't like the person (my dad wasn't part of this). He later found that a disgruntled dishwasher (later fired for another reason) pissed in the onion soup. The dishwasher's friend knew but didn't tell anyone except a small few after the guy was fired.
So, it may be rare, but it does happen from time to time.
