Like someone at work

Recruitment has a nack in employing interesting people. Now there is a woman at my workplace in the other office who I really like. As usual same my workmates think she is a bit weird but I really like her; she is an intellectual. I want to ask her out but at the workplace it can be a bit difficult.

I'm too scared to even think about someone in the workplace. But if I were to attempt it again, I'd start by getting involved with what she was doing (or at least trying to share the enthusiasm). How would you attempt it?

Um, try asking her to lunch?

In my limited experience, work can be a good and bad place to meet women.


Pros:
*You most likey have similar career interests, lifestyles, and make about the same amout of money (unless one of you has a different/higher job title).
*It's a good, casual way to get to know somebody first, without all of the hassles and pressure of a first date with someone you might not even really like.

Cons:
* Problems at home = problems at work. If you break -up, it will be very awkward having to work with or see them everyday.
*Flirting (from both sides)
*Gossiping
*The list goes on and on

Try not to think of her has potential date material, and simply as a person that may become your friend. Ask her to lunch, or for coffee. Stress that it is simply to welcome her aboard, or whatever, but NOT a DATE.

Not everyone will date where they work. I for one think that it is a BAAAAAD idea. Potential for some repurcussions if things to don't work out...and if it does...depends on company policy!
