The truth of the matter is it's all hypothetical anyway! It's like trying to decide whether you'd prefer (excuse me, be oriented towards) dodo meat or passenger pigeon meat; either way, the bird's extinct—just like an aspie's chances.

If an aspie (male leastwise) claims to have had intercourse, then he or she is:

  • Lying (and probably badly considering the typical aspie's ability to lie)
  • Not an aspie
  • Neglecting to mention that he or she paid for the services duly rendered

Call me a pessimist, but this is how it seems to be.

Just because we have difficulty with social skills doesn't mean we're totally incapable of forming intimate bonds with others. Besides, if autism is (at least partially) genetic, how would the gene keep getting passed around if none of us were capable of finding a mate?

My second husband was textbook AS. MUCH worse than me -- he was even a toe-walker.

He got laid. He even got married (to me). After we divorced, he got remarried.

He worked out, was really smart, and had a good quality family & is a great guy (for a Jewish engineer infatuated with ALF & Richard Nixon).

He did all the right things -- exercised, was generous, smart, etc. B/c I was AS, smart was really important. But I also liked that he was incredibly REAL.

This is perhaps the most misguided post I have ever seen.

I think the part of Neant's brain that controls sarcasm and over-exaggeration may have been overactive at birth due to a freak genetic mutation that designates him as a new subspecies, thus he's become accustomed to a life of communicating only through those means. That's the life of a Neant Human. Even the damn name suggests sarcasm or irony, as far as I can tell.

I must be related. My time on these forums has been fraught with suppression of that most basic instinct of mine. The poor Neant Human just can't control it as well as the Orbyss Human, for where I'm evolved to see colours and feel emotions of people thousands of miles away from me I've never met, he's evolved for exquisite, biting wordplays and sour humour.

Of course, this is all mere speculation at this point, I haven't even worked it up to a hypothesis.

^Yes, I think many aspies like myself can also relate Orbyss.

I think It's also typical for many of us to take sarcasms literally...

I always wanted to do a thread parody here on the Love and Dating as well as the PPR Forum but I don't think anyone would get it.... :(

I've resisted the temptation so many times by now I'm starting to feel like a bad person. I think it's the urge to create a sort of balance by counteracting the strict seriousness of most of the posts with something utterly irreverent.

You forgot some.
• admitting to have made honest attempts to step outside of his comfort zone
• not wallowing in self-pity, and therefore is more fun to be around, and therefore can make close friends, and therefore can have sex.

Self-pity is what all the "cool kids" in their "heightened schools" and places of hang are doing these days; therefore, it can't be hurting anyone's chances. Q.E.D.
