I like someone and he likes me. We've been in a relationship for a while. I've told him about my Aspergers and he doesn't seem to mind but I feel I may have been dishonest and glossed over some things. Is there a way to not gloss over things without sounding like I'm making excuses or insulting myself? And is there a tactful way of actually starting a conversation about it?

Watch Big Bang Theory together. Sheldon and Leonard will give you plenty of opportunities to discuss Asperger and it's effects in daily life. :D

Okay maybe it'll help if i give a brief description of him?
Personality: Kind, sensitive and understanding. Brave. Honest and I feel I can trust him. An unsual combination of outgoingness and shyness
NT or not? Unsure on this one. He's weird in a nice way- not afraid of breaking th mould.
Intelligence: Yes, and lots of it

From my experience with myself and my friends, whenever I tell them about AS it usually is a bit of a non-event. Generally they've come to like and trust me for who I am, and if they know me well enough then the traits I have are just characteristics they know and apparently don't mind - and the traits I don't seem to have, I probably don't have at all. So my guess is that if you've been in a relationship with this guy for a while, then he probably knows you well enough already for the AS label to be quite superficial in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you very much Hector. Yeah, when I told him I had asperger's he said "What does that mean?" and I said "well typically..." and listed some of the traits I show. But I was really just giving him the term for things he already knew about. I realised I was just describing something obvious in detail but it was still a relief to get it off my chest.
