(Full title: Input your advice for successfully resolving any given predicament on a date.)
Here is mine to start:

Then she may feel the need to help and say, "Oh, don't worry about that. I'll pay your $20. You can just give me a gift worth that much one of these days."
When I met an old childhood classmate for coffee (who's now studying to be some kind of psychologist), I didn't have my credit card with me, and I rarely carry any cash. I tried calling my credit card's customer service to have them tell me the numbers (didn't memorize them yet at the time) so I could tell it to the Radina's cashier and they'd manually key it in. The wait time was 7 minutes, so I knew I could bike back to my apartment to get the card and come back sooner.
She said, "No, that's okay. I'll pay for your coffee." We had a pretty good talk like expected and it all ended on a good note.
(Side note: When I lost my credit card again months later and discovered this when I tried to buy at Best Buy, I had my credit card information memorized at that point so I asked their cashier whether they could just manually key in the numbers - 16 digits, expiration, security code and all. She said the purchase will only go through when activated by a magnet so the credit card would actually have to be here in order to get it done. At least I found where I dropped my card after retracing my steps through the previous places I shopped.
