This has happened to me a couple of times now.
I will be dating someone, and our mood swings will match up...even if we are not in the same place at the same time.
I will be having a terrible horrible melty bad day, and call my friend on the phone to find that he is having the same kind of day....
Um...There is a sort of mild thinking-in-pictures telepathy that will sometimes happen too....likesay..I got the sudden image of the blue flashlight in my head, right before he asked me if I knew where the flashlight was...he describes things..like particular shades of color and I can visualize them..Or find stuff that he has been looking for at thrift stores and whatnot, just based on a brief description and a tiny bit of intuition.
um...I screened him a t-shirt and told him about it before finishing it, but I slightly messed up on it, and made several more almost identical. He picked out the one I had originally intended for him...could be a cooincidence...
It mostly has to do with moods and mental visual images....My friend and I are both left-handed...visual thinkers...
Could be I am just crazy...
The first time it happened, it was awful, because the person didn't like me very much..

I did have these sorts of things happen often when I first got together with my current husband. One of us would have a random thought and would type it to the other (we were online/long distance) and the other would go "
I just said that outloud two seconds ago!!"
ect ect
Doesn't happen any more though.

Other times I will be "unnecessarily" worried about him, only to find out later that he got into a bike accident or something.....The first time this happened, he injured himself pretty badly.
But it it not entirely predictable...just enough to notice that it happens sometimes.
what is funny is when he assumes I am automatically supposed to know something....and then I don't...

I am not around him all that much.
I am somewhat intuitive about certain things with the person I live with, just because I have been around him forever and I know what he likes.....but it is not exactly the same sorta mood/visual exchange thingy.

Yeah like I said my relationship was long distance. We hadn't even met yet. So I don't think being around eachother had much to do with it.
I don't remember the cirucmstances but there was one time one of us got really worried in the middle of the day for no reason and it turned out the other had gotten injured in some manner.
Yes.
For a while now I've been toying with the idea of starting a thread on this subject, but I didn't know how to tactfully go about it or how well it would be received, so I've refrained. I have posted about it elsewhere, though. By now I've shut down a lot and rarely share my experiences with anyone.
Oddly enough, I nearly brought it up in the polyamory thread of late because it ties in so heavily in my inordinate monogamous tendencies.
I met my boyfriend through dreams. It wasn't the first time I'd 'met' someone through dreams; prior to that, I'd had dreams and waking 'visions' of another person who I met months later. It's happened a couple times after that, but to nowhere near the extent it has with my current boyfriend. I drew pictures of him before I knew what he looked like, found out the name of one of his family members, became well acquainted with his family dynamics, flirted, and was asked out by him in one of the first dreams.
I cataloged the dreams obsessively, noting every detail of him. Unlike the other guy, I fell in love with this one. There was something about him I just can't explain, even now. Just like the other guy, I had no idea he actually existed until about two years ago, and I still haven't come to terms with the fact I dated him in dreams.
Sure, it could all be coincidence, or the fact that I did talk to him online in a detached way without any interest and picked up something, but this all started before that point anyway. And the pictures, details and almost everything else add up. I have a hard time believing something different from the expected norm wasn't going on. I feel I can have a connection to just about everyone in some way, and it's entirely possible most, or all, other people can, too. But these experiences were unlike anything I'd personally encountered with people before. I now know other people do have similar experiences, but it took over my life and wasn't exactly pleasant, due to it being isolating.
After everything I started to question 'spirituality,' the concepts of duality and how people bond. To me, I could feel this was only possible with one person, at least at a time. And it just so happened that out of all the people this seemed to happen with, only one ended up with me, and it happened to be the one that came through strongest--enough for me to fall into a deep limerence I'd never experienced previously. I have a connection to my friends, family and ex/guy friend, but the possible direct connection to my boyfriend supersedes all of those in intensity and range.
The connection isn't nearly as strong the other way, unfortunately, but I've been trying to work on that, coaxing it out of him. We do 'mind colours,' a test where we attempt to accurately guess either the colour we're looking at, in a room or on a computer screen, or in our mind's eye. We've been trying to understand the details of that, as well. I'm learning there is a definite pattern in how it works, and I'm tweaking the techniques we can use to better communicate. I'm not all that much of a visual thinker/learner, and I'm not sure what he is, so it can be difficult.
One huge problem I have is that I can feel his sexuality to a very distressing, intrusive degree. That's not a problem now if our relationship lasts, but it once was a huge issue that has done damage to us both. I don't want to go into details. At this point, if we break up, we're going to have to figure out what we can do to break this connection. More than the mind colours, it's been inadvertently tested at multiple points with exactly the same results -- I know what he does, feels and experiences sexually.
Mind you, this is the first time I've talked about a lot of this. It's a big issue and not something I like to brag about. But suffice it to say that anyone experiencing any level of connection with someone is not alone. And it's not always just good fun, either. Whether science declares it true or not is a moot point for those experiencing it at the anecdotal level.
I just wanted to get this out in case this is something more common in 'the spectrum' and someone else may be afraid to step forward about their more extreme experiences. I'd say more but it would take a book at this point, and I've probably already said too much.

Mine isn't quite so strong..just strong enough to be noticed...I am kinda glad it isn't quite that strong.
One reason is because my friend can be pretty troubled and moody...
The first time this happened between me and another person, it was horribly unpleasant because the person did not share my affections, but I was still sorta "linked" to them and being "linked" to them made it really difficult to let go...I thought that it "meant" something, when really all it meant was that I was crazy.
I literally on several occasions had dreams about him shortly before he came into town...to the point where it became predictable. When he was around me, or in the city with me, it was like I was under some horrible spell....I won't go into all the stuff...but it was rotten...
Maybe this sort of thing has something to do with the powers of limerance.

Well, thing is I didn't have limerence for the other guy I dreamt of, but we did sort of make friends. He had issues of his own, though, and a confused life. I always felt like he and I'd never work from the beginning, and I never felt the same toward him in dreams. The second time around, though, was different, and the limerence took a while to grab hold -- months, actually -- so the actual power of the experience didn't totally rely on the limerence, just made me more likely to stay obsessed and learn more.
I've had these experiences with women, too, and those are very powerful and very non-sexual. I'm not sure what's going on, but the people I feel like I connect to often end up having an more obvious impact in my life and share a lot with me in terms of personality in some way.
When limerence is involved, it can feel rotten, no doubt.
