I'm just trying to figure out, among the people who are actually looking for partners, how many of those people have accounts on Aspie Affection...

I used to, but didn't really find it to be all that user-friendly (blocks out e-mail addresses and IM screen names if you try to send them).

I did make one friend on there, though.

It doesn't really seem to be that good. and I think the ratio of men to women is waaay out of whack. But I guess it doens't really concern me, since i'm happily "taken".

It's not my cup of tea. If I was interested, I would have joined, a long time ago.

Im on there, Ive met a couple of friends through it but nothing more. The message feature always logs out and errases messages so its quite frustrating to use.

I did a profile search once. There was only one woman listed in my area, and the profile specifically said that she wasn't looking for anything beyond friends...

AspieAffection.com:
• Too damm tedious to navigate.
• Search parameters are not detailed enough.
• Many of the "females" there are actually scammers.

The scammers may be why e-mail addresses and IM screen names are blocked out.

No. It never came to my mind to join it and I'm probably too young to join it at the moment.

Seventy-five percent of its population are sketchy unemployed men lurking in their parents' basements, and the other twenty-five percent are men claiming to be women.

Heh, not joining... -.- I was kind of suspicious, but the above comments has confirmed it for me. (Still, i don't think i'd really want a girl within my area... It gets too boring sometimes... Plus it's much better to seek out new genes than mix with the same gene pool ^^; )

I just registered, looking for friends only though.

I think with people saying "no one is in my region" etc. is only making it worse.. because if everybody thinks that then no one will join.

Okay, now here's another question:

If so few of the established membership of WP (even just among those that are single and looking for relationships) are using Aspie Affection, why do we redirect all newcomers that post a "so-and-so year old aspie looking for..." thread to that site? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
