I propose that we hold the meetup on Saturday 25th May.
A new thread will be started shortly with meeting times, location etc...

I just got my schedule for the next month and I won't be able to make it on the 18th. Maybe some other time.

The date for the meetup is Saturday 18th May. All info is listed above in thread above.

I think the 25th of may be the better date as you said.

Hey,

I'm looking to meet people in London and I'm new to the forums so I have no idea how this works... I love museums, not so interested in pub crawls.

I can't forsee having a problem with any of those dates suggested.

(The link posted above my comment doesn't open...)

Looks like your meet is shaping up nicely.

Regarding theatre I'd be happy is 3-5 of us are interested, but I will try to drum up support in both meets.

Unfortunately The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime is pretty much sold out on 18th. If people are still interested, we could postpone the theatre meet, and find an available day that we can all agree on. My friend said it was good, personally I didn't rate the book, but I am still interested.

I'm interested in this play about Alan Turing, the last performance is on Sat 11th though :S

The Universal Machine

If you are interested let me know There is a 19: 30 performance.

Stuff on the 18th

There is 39 Steps
http://www.criterion-theatre.co.uk/Theatre/39-Steps

There 4 tickets available at the 17 GBP mark and others.

Pastoral
http://sohotheatre.com/whats-on/pastoral/

Tickets at the 15GBP mark and up

Relatively Speaking <- looks promising
http://www.timeout.com/london/theatre/r ... y-speaking

22GBP an up.

Ticket availability here:
http://www.delfontmackintosh.co.uk/Tick ... eaking.asp

Desperately Seeking the Exit
http://tiny.cc/gzx8vw

Tickets at the 10-12GPBP

Let me know ASAP of interest, or else we'll have to postpone.

I've read The Curious Incident, and I'd love to see the play.

And I'm interested in going to the other play on Sat 11th. Or anything else really on that day.

Also, is anyone interested in going to the David Bowie Exhibition at the V&A?

OK I'll keep that in mind. :)

Been to the Bowie Exhibition. Recommend it. Book now, don't wait. There is something for everybody. Not strictly chronological, a lot of detail. I didn't realize there was a whole other section, very nearly missed half of it. Once you have you slot, you can stay as long you like, if you can get the afternoon slot the people tail off by the second section. The first section is a bit crammed.

i could come along for the 11th May; if a few of us can make it would be worth while; same with the David Bowie exhibition too

I'm not very familiar with the theatre so would need someone there who knows "how it all works"

I'm out of London on the 11th, back for the 18th. Up for seeing the David Bowie Exhibition and going to the theatre (not on the same day though!).

Details for London meetup on Saturday 18th May.

We will be meeting at the central pillars of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square from 12pm.

Image

For a map of Trafalgar Sq, please click this link.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl= ... 1164937648

We will remain at the central pillars for 30 minutes. At 12.30, we will go to The Cafe Under the Crypt which is situated underneath St Martin in the Fields church on Trafalgar Square (website here: http://www.stmartin-in-the-fields.org/c ... the-crypt/). We can then decide on whether to stay there or go somewhere else. We will mainly stick to free or budget activities but it is recommended that you bring a tenner for food and drinks.
If you have any questions, please feel free to pm me. I can give you my mobile number as well to call on the day should you wish to come later or have any trouble locating the meetup point.

There is also the possibility of going to the theater on the 18th. For those interested in this, please read 0_equals_true on what theater performances are taking place.

PS: Please can you say if you are definitely attending this meetup.

Well, the David Bowie Exhibition online tickets are sold out and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time play is almost sold out on weekends in June already so it'll be pretty difficult to arrange meetups involving those events.

Anyway, have fun on the 18th, guys!

This is something I would have wanted to do, unfortunately for me I am working that day and so cannot attend.

If you ever decide to do another one of these things please bear me in mind because I think it would be quite useful for me to meet new people, maybe make some new friends in the process...

... there will be another time, right?
