I'm with you!!

As a group, no, I don't like people. But individually I generally only don't care for people until they a) overload my senses (with noise, a lot of obnoxious movements, etc) or b) say something hateful and ignorant ("if you don't like America move to Iraq" "Kill all Liberals" <---I've actually seen this as a bumper sticker). Having moved even FURTHER south than I was before, I find that my prior case by case evaluations have been replaced by a PROVE ME WRONG attitude. I'm slowly but surely losing faith in people.

Well, SpaceCase, I live in Tennessee right across the border. And with all these religious nuts and just plain ignorant folks running around, I long for the day I can move somewhere more intellectually friendly..... like say, Afghanistan?

My misanthropy depends on what mood I'm in. I get into my "I hope a nuclear holocaust wipes out all mankind" mode when I dwell on how people hurt each other over a bunch of bull. Or it's sometimes when I'm mistreated/misunderstood by people for things about myself I have no control over.

I am very judgemental. A stranger will be judged long before they get a chance to talk to me. Not neccesarily bad judgements but judgements none the less. My judgements mean nothing. You walk in and I know you were the head of the chearleading squad. Good for you. I don't care.

So I'd say I tolerate or avoid 80% of people
Enjoy but still don't want to befriend about 10%
I really like about 8% of them
And then there are those 2% of people that I would like to curb stomp.... like Dick Cheney.

I dislike people until I get to know them. Then I typically despise them. :) Seriously, I'm just not a big fan of people, even if they are decent folk. Conversation is just a painful process most of the time. Even with my wife, I find myself wanting to hit the fast-forward button all of the time. However, screaming, "Get to the ****ing point!" does not a marriage make so I've learned to pass the time that she is waxing philosophical about her relationship with her mother by surreptuously thinking about other things. It has actually helped when dealing with other people as well, like some decent training. It's hard, though, with other people since it so much easier to tell them to stow it.

I usually like people, as long as they're not being rude or annoying.

people scare me but i am unwilling to fritter strong emotions on people i hardly know. i always try to see the positive in people and i often think that i should be friends with a person just because we share interests. however, making the necessary conversation is hard and the friends i have had over the years: i have no idea what i did to make them become friends, (i suspect all friendships were at their instigation not mine)!

I distrust most people from the moment I meet them. In my experience, there are a lot of people who are either sadists or manipulators or both. In general, I do not trust that people have good intentions.

Some people I hate right away, an instant despise. For no particular reason, I can't explain it. I can't communicate with them, I get flustered and anxious. Perhaps it's more fear and not hate, or both?. I still haven't figured it out.

On the other hand some (a lot fewer) people I like right away. They are easy to talk to and be around. They seem to not notice or care about my quirkyness.

No, I don´t dislike people in general, although there are a few NT´s I dislike passionately.
