I don't regret the fact that I have never smoked because I always knew even as a kid that it was bad for your health and I didn't fall to the pressure of smoking because other people did. The same can be said of drugs, as I have never smoked weed and stuff like that. I have drunken alcohol since 18 but I have never got drunk or had a hangover. I also have never had a one night stand as I don't know why I'd have sex with someone I barely know and also I worry about STIs and things like that.

I say I don't regret some of those things but a part of feels as though "has my life been boring because I didn't do things like this when you are an early young adult?" I like being social but I have always had very few friends to socialise and go out with. I never liked clubbing and stuff like that really but even though there is no rulebook telling you, you must do these things otherwise you'll regret it, it feels like people do these things so they don't regret it later on.

You don't regret it but you do...
There's a leg either side of the fence there.

In my opinion yes, but boring isn't the true downside in that.

Nah...they do it so they don't regret it NOW.
one starts this activity when young to learn how to interact with unfamiliar people in unfamiliar circumstances and hopefully get lucky!
I don't see how anyone can complain about not having a girlfriend if they're not prepared to push their envelope, at least enough to talk to someone new...
They call them social lubricants for a reason.

Sounds pretty boring, not gonna lie.

I have never:-

Been drunk
Dyed my hair
Gotten a tattoo
Gotten a piercing, not even my ears
Worked full-time hours
Been clubbing

Not sure if I've ever been high or not. I've tried weed before and I seemed unnaturally calm afterwards but I didn't really feel high, I don't know.

Basing you own life standards on others , does not give respect to you own values ! If you need excitement , might go learn to fly a private plane or even a ultra light. dirt bicycle racing or stunt riding , stuff like that.hopefully with some support of like minded persons ..imho That might require practice ? People practice drinking to get a tolerance, so they can play that social game, etc. Smoking can show up on xrays all your life, giving less oxygen available to the brain .
There are better ways, and peer pressure can be tough ,but obviously it is not the only game in town. And if you wish to share their values or similiar values . (Then by all means go that route )but please be aware of the side effects . Some Vineareal diseases ( VD ) s can last a lifetime , by the way . And even affect your brain, in bad ways. Been down both of those paths btw .Except the VD stuff, dodged that bullit .

I'm being serious, but to each their own.

I much prefer to have casual sex stone cold sober :V needing alcohol first is for p*****s. Seriously though, being intoxicated is the least interesting thing on the whole list. I've never been drunk or high either but also don't particularly care, there are other fun things to do and they're probably more fun if you have full control of your faculties anyway.
I have been clubbing before and drank free tap water to hydrate me so I can dance more.

Autistics tend to be rule followers so Chris's post should not be surprising. I also never smoked or did drugs. I drank but not to excess. And I didn't have my first sexual experience until I was 27.

I would say that you are better off not doing self destructive things like drinking or smoking cigarettes and weed. But if you want to try it just to know what is like, then go ahead.

Doing these destructive things won't make your life any more interesting, if I'm being honest. You can do these things in moderation---think like once every few months, or years. I don't see why people are adamant when it comes to purity culture; one or two martinis doesn't make you an alcoholic.

Also, the few friends you do have please don't take for granted : go out and do things you all like doing, like one hang-out go somewhere and do something you enjoy; next one do something your other friend enjoys; third time do something you all enjoy.

Usually I rebel against rules but I am just too wimpy to abuse my body (apart from sugar consumption). But it's not that I want to do the things everyone else does, it's just that I don't like being the only one who doesn't.

Autistics tend to be rule followers, but ADHD+autistic folks seem more likely to be rule breakers, or at least rule questioners, especially with rules that when broken don't really harm others.

Rules?
There are rules?
The internal moral compass isn't enough?

I have gotten into trouble breaking rules that didn't make sense to me. There are a couple of situations I cringe to think about. I can be quite rigid about following MY OWN rules, but I don't automatically obey rules handed down by somebody in authority. I don't think this is unusual for someone on the spectrum.

I once had drunken sex with somebody I'd just met. Neither of us had had sex in months, and she had been making a point of not being easily coaxed into the bedroom after her boyfriend cheated on her. The amount of alcohol we consumed was enough to make her forget that resolution. A lot of pent up sexual desire was released that evening. Something I don't regret having experienced, but not something one can realistically plan for.
