I don't think it's a weird thing to say. I think it's an artsy thing to say. A lot of people who don't consider themselves artsy are unsure how to respond to such a statement. Should they defer to the artsy person's more qualified judgement of beauty and just agree? Should they offer an artsy opinion of their own even if they don't have one? Should they be on the lookout for future eccentric behaviour because everybody knows artsy people are eccentric? Many people opt to just say nothing if they had not already considered themselves artsy.

Sounds to me like a perfectly charming thing to say. But then, I'm undoubtedly more like you than I am like her, assuming she was NT.

People generally seem to think it's weird to notice things like that, or to care for them at all. I usually make pictures of pretty clouds and skies I see, but not around others, as they'd just label you "weird". I once met one girl who supposedly has Aspergers at some sort of meeting thing. We both noticed a HUGE row of pigeons sitting on a stadium's roof. We were the only ones thinking it was something worth mentioning. Or something noticeable at all.

So yeah. Generally I keep that sort of stuff to myself.

It's weird and kind of sad that most NTs don't appreciate the scenery around them. But I do, and I honestly don't care if they think I'm a weird person. I usually carry a camera so I can take photographs of whatever strikes my interest, and I don't care what impression this leaves on others. I've had a few close friends COMPLIMENT me because I'm an obsessive photographer, and that's more than enough motivation to continue.

Pidgeons are curious creatures to watch even when they're alone. There's absolutely nothing wrong with noticing them.
