Has anyone ever thought about diet to help with anxiety? I read most people don't get enough Omega 3 fatty acids. I noticed when I started talking cod liver oil, my over all mood increased. Also, you guys might want to look into this herb called cissus, which I read lowers the stress hormone (Cortisol).

Thanks Shiz, I'll check that out. I know excercise really helps me but it's not always something that is available. Cod liver oil sounds rather freightening, that stuff has a reputation for being STRONG. Currently I take vitamin D's because I don't get enough sun and will occasionally take "fish pills" that my parents push on me, though they tend to repeat so I tend not to take them frequently. They might be similar , I'll have to check, I know they are for omega-3... They are gel pills, horse sized, come to think of it they probably are cod liver oil in a non-lethal gel capsule format. If they reduce anxiety that would be good.

Actually it doesn't taste bad at all. I get Carlson brand lemon flavored cod liver oil and love it. I think the liquid has more fatty acid than the pills.

Lemon flavoured sounds much more palatable.

I've thought about going on meds for social anxiety. (I'm scared of meds though and can even get a bit weird about taking my prescribed thyroid drugs.)

I don't blame you. I don't trust anything man made.

In my experience they only mask what's really going on with delusion and then tack on a bunch of side effects to boot. The best medication I've found is understanding. It's not an easy fix but it puts things into perspective. Kind of a 'face your fears' approach.
