I suppose it depends how you define a friend.
I used to have some friends on here, but I left for a long period and as is my way, became obsessed with something else.
Now, I am quite content I suppose to not have friends here as getting to know people too much can just lead to more stress and problems.

The key to making friends on here:

1. Have left-wing political views.
2. Don't practice any religion, especially Christianity.
3. Do what's popular with the other members, rather than be yourself.
4. Talk only about things that are popular with at least 90% of other members.

1. Open-mindedness is not confined to those on the political left.
2. People seem to think that Christians want anyone who isn't a white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, heterosexual male to be a second-class citizen.
3. I talk about the things I like, but largely get ignored.
4. Nobody talks about the Simpsons and South Park.

If you make friends, you lose your anonymity, and this could restrict what you feel comfortable posting about. I guess in the same way you "edit" what you do and don't talk about with real life friends....or maybe that's just me

Admittedly, I now live a fairly dull life :( but y'know....wasn't always the case

And even though there are people with similar interests and life history or outlook, I feel uncomfortable about pestering them. I supose I'm like a vampire, I have to be invited in

I'd say I have no friends on WP, because of a lack of PMing and limited access to internet... but I am aquainted with a number of people here, and I enjoy their discussion and banter.

No offense but its probably to do with the quality of your posts most of the ones i've seen are spam. I mean posts are all good but quality over quantity

No, I think you are on to something there. There are people here I consider friends, but not because of any formal arrangement or agreement or social contract or pact or anything like that ... and that is the difference. As best I can tell, they accept me as I am and continue being themselves all along the way.

Sure beats mere FaceBook "friends", eh?!

I love hale_bopp's bluntness, way to go spiky!

e-friendship doesn't equate real friendship, OP.

Friendly people are not always your friends too.

Well im just trying to help him out. No-one even reads those sort of posts. Its not a good way to get noticed... and if you do its for negative reasons.

Are you LePetitPrince btw?
