I hope the meetup was good. I was so stressed with the diagnosis stuff in the morning (and now I am officially Aspergers) that I didn't want to come to the meetup. Can I come to the next one?

The meet up went really well and everyone had a fun time! They went round a few cafes in Birmingham and chatted and looked at some trams. Everyone was very friendly and got on really well :D

Tom is probably going to do it monthly on the last Saturday of the month :sunny:

That would be good. With the new diagnosis I'd like to explore more what it means to have ASD, and meeting others with it might help. Is there a mix of ages/gender/ethnicity in the group who meet up?

Are there any plans for a Birmingham meetup any time?

He is holding them on the last saturday of each month, he is on a temporary ban at WP which ends at the begining of April.

He has a thread about the meet up on aspie village where (if you join) you can pm him and find out where they are meeting.

http://www.aspievillage.org.uk/

If not you can pm me and I will give you his mobile number (he is my boyfriend).

The meet up in Jan and feb went very well and everyone had a nice time and got on well, the first one had about 14 people and the second one had about 6. They went for coffee in waterstones, looked at some sites and had food together.

There will be another meet up on the 27th March, probably meeting at the Nelson statue at the bullring shopping centre in Birmingham. I will be going so anyone who wants to can pm me for more details or for Tom's number.

I've got my ASD assessment scheduled for the 16th March. Depending on how that goes I would quite like to come along if that's OK?

I already know Alycat and it might be nice to meet a few more of you.

I wondered when you'd sign up on here.
I can vouch for him being a real person, and not a mass murderer.

That would be great! You would be very welcome to come along even if you turn out not to have ASD :D

That's very kind of you.

Apart the chance I might not have it, although I think this is unlikely, I also didn't want to tempt fate about the assessment going ahead. I was originally supposed to have it in February but they cancelled it half an hour before the appointment due to the doctor being ill!

Luckily your day wasn't totally ruined, as you did managed to sit through several hours of my waffling. And we found a cafe that does hot chocolate that actually tastes nice!

Yes, thanks to you (and the hot chocolate) the day was certainly not the complete nightmare it could have been.

Also, thanks to lotusblossom for setting my mind at ease.
