I get on with my brother's friend and his siblings. He is 10 though so it doesn't count does it, I'm usually just entertaining him or teasing him or something. I am proper friends with his brother though who is 15, I don't find that depressing because we made friends ourselves.
I wouldn't find it depressing, because if I was hanging out with sibling's friends then they would be my friends too, and there's nothing depressing about having friends.

for a time, my sister would invite me to parties when i was in my late teens/early twenties, and while it was cool to be out and about and have a reason to be there with her friends, i never made good friends with them. most of them were older as my sister is 7 years older than me and most of them were married/male/weird/douchebag/obnoxious/stupid people. it was insulting to be a tag along with my sister as i felt even when i was really drunk, i couldnt be too crazy around my sister. and at times she was a little too obviously protective when we were at these parties. while i could still be able and willing to go to parties these days, my sister has moved on from that period in her life. she did ask me earlier this year to go to a party after it had been a couple years since we had partied together and while i was under the impression it was the same old uninteresting married people from the past, i found out after the fact that the party was actually a couple hundred. i kicked myself for not going. but i know why i chose to go. i got overwhelmed by the thought of socializing. it does suck. and i will struggle with it my entire life.

Most of my brother's friends don't even acknowledge me when I'm around them.
