I'm not really into electric music or hip-hop but I like most other types. I live in Schriever witch is over an hour from New Orleans. I don't use Live Journal but I use MySpace & some underground type things. I cant keep up with the mainstream & it seems to be a giant popularity contest. I want friends who are real. I don't really have many interest. I mostly chat on forums & watch TV

For me, I don't like parties simply because, there's nothing to do at them so I find them boring. For me, talking/visiting amounts to doing nothing and since that's all there is really to do at a party, it amounts to doing nothing which I detest. At home, I can watch a movie or a good TV show or even play a video game to stimulate my brain.

Ok here's my suggestion: go on myspace and find other people in Schriever into music you like. I assume heavy metal because you don't like electronic or hip-hop.

I found this in five seconds. A non-mainstream person with AS in your city: http://www.myspace.com/tanyatoups

Why not email them? "Hey... I'm into underground music and also have AS. You know of anything for people like us to do in the area?"

If you're not into music that much try searching for your favorite TV show. Say it's True Blood. You google "True Blood" and "Schriever" and "Myspace."

Local real people everywhere it seems. Start commenting on their profiles. You'll get invited to events and can RSVP. The best part about meeting these people at the events is getting to know them on a personal basis later so you guys can all chill at home listening to music, having good conversations, watching weird movies, etc. Enjoy. :)

I like some metal but I'm not into the really hard stuff much. Comedy & pop are kind of my special interest. My interest are really immature compared to most people around my age. If you seen my post on the Favorite Female Singer thread; you can tell http://www.wrongplanet.net/posts30414-start330.html It's kind of hard to find people with similar interest sense I have the maternity level & interest as a 13year-old girl in some ways

I haven't' been using MySpace much lately, I've listed it in my pro on here but should update/change it. I haven't searched for people there in a while. I kept finding private profiles or fake pros; like kids who lied about their ages. I should probably try searching again after I update it

being in south lousianna you can probably do some volunteer work with cleaning up animals and meet people there. I met some good friends doing volunteer work while I was in high school.

They friend-potentials you want to talk to are called "Nerds" and "Geeks" by society. Join your local Starwars/Startrek/Roleplay community and you'll find lots of sympathetic people to hang out with.

...ofcourse it helps if you are INTERESTED in what the community is all about.

I haven't heard much about the volunteering side of things in the clean-up but some of the people involved in the clean-up have been getting sick cuz of fumes, heat ect. I hate the heat & humidity here & I have very sensitive skin; I've been helping my mom clean the house this summer & my skins is starting to ge bad from the cleaners.

I like StarTrek & StarWars & I get along well with nerds & geeks but I don't know of any communities/groups for em here except for Radio Shack & Best Buy. People here are mostly into outdoors stuff like hunting, fishing & sports like foot-ball. Wer kind of different compared to the other areas it seems. Lots of people online have been suggesting I move even before this oil leak because my personal beliefs & personality interest are kinda opposite of what this place is known for

I personally do like to party, but yes there are places to go that don't. I also go to a meeting every week at my local comic book store where me and some guys just get together and draw cartoons. Look at your local paper and buisnesses you like to see if they're hosting anything.

Hope this helps
