Would have been doing them a favor. From what I've heard Gluten is bad for all humans. Just that some have less resistance to it's effects.

They all kept trying to swipe my pizza since it was Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. Had to tell them it tastes nasty since it's gluten free.

I haven't been dxed with aspergers yet, but I'm 99.9% sure I have it. I display pretty much all of the clinical symptoms of it. Anyway, I can be pretty straight forward about asking about my needs. I have to be prepared to go anywhere, this means knowing where I can and can't eat because I have food allergies. My cousin is having a birthday party for his kid and all I did was ask what was being served so I could plan if I needed to eat ahead of time in case nothing was safe for me. Apparently this is wrong? My mom said I shouldn't ask because then it makes them feel like they have to provide me with food, but I did say I'd eat ahead of time so it's not like I asked them to provide me with something. I just wanted to know if there's something for me to eat or not.

This also goes along with apparently not being able to talk about what I study in school because it's bragging if I say I study organic chemistry and it's embarrassing to NT's? I don't understand that either.

People are so exasperating! I wish my world was just animals. I understand them better.

Im not good at explaining stuff, but i agree with ur mom, it is rude. Just dont do it, im sure the cousin will feel like u dont like his food or something.

Maybe you should contribute a dish to the party made of food you know you can eat. Don't ask first or bring it up before hand though. Just show up with the food unexpectedly. Then if most other foods are suspect for allergies you can eat most of the food you brought.

Yes even I think the above sounds dumb. But it's the first thing that comes to mind. It's as if you need to covertly find a solution that doesn't "Impose" on people somehow. :?

the sad thing is NTs dont like to many questions, just try to go on without asking questions. un expected stuff, you know? i mean u can ask questions, just not alot

Thanks! :-) I think I may just try to avoid all this next time and just not go or go later so I don't have to worry about eating. I already stick out a lot because I'm not super social, especially in a group. I do better 1 on 1 or 1 on 2. But maybe bringing my own pizza made them more aware that it's not that I don't like their food, it's just that I can't eat it?
