Bluntness and feeling bad about it

I definitely have my moments and to be honest, I grew up thinking that it wasn't me and that it was just an Australian trait...

Finding a sweet spot between being honest without going so far as coming off as brutally insensitive is challenging. Some people like the truth and want it -- all of it, others would prefer if you were up front with them but dialed-down on the brutality a little. When dealing with people who are not receptive to subtle remarks, it's even more challenging!

Keep refining it, I say

only the truth can be said with confidence.

Yeah... I get too opinionated too.. but I usually dont' say much and I add stuff like afterwards like "but yeah I liked" something else about the thing.
One time my brother's old band had a new song, and he sent me it, and I thought it was like a joke song like purposely kind of a joke, and without knowing it wasn't, I said stuff about it like how it sounds, it wasn't too harsh I don't think, but I did say stuff more like really mocking of it. I still feel bad about that, even though later when it was done I really liked it and it was actually one of my favorite songs of theirs.
But yeah sometimes I'll say things and regret them, even if it's stuff that's not actually mean, just more negative.

Haha that goes double for me.

i dont have that much of a problem with it but i do tend to say things that should not have been said. i never hurt anyone's feelings except a family member but i didnt feel bad because i nevered liked her.
