Don't be willing to get into a fight over purple/green stuff.... (It's a Sci-Fi reference that is relevant here), you can't win. If someone had explained that one to me when I was young, that would have been nice...

There's no point in fighting over this arguement, since a) neither of you have a say in it, and b)His position and yours are set in stone.

It sounds like it's just a difference in opinion anyway; nobody "can" be right or wrong.

But when it comes to hardware, you can never have enough. Bigger and more is the order of the day.

Bill Gates famously said “640K ought to be enough for anybody.” -Bill Gates (1981).

For now 500Gig might be adequate, but it will not be enough in a couple years’ time.

PS: my opinion, yours may vary.
