Should I drop my longtime friend?
This storry so terribly sounds like mine... exept my friend is not rude, just ignores me. I suspected depression, did not know how to deal with it.
She considers herself extroverted, but she is also passive-agressive and avoids conflicts like hell. Ostrich politics non plus ultra.
I could not figure out what happened with "us"...
But in my case there was someone who could cheer her up with empty s**t (I suspec also weed) ... thus I've got palinly dumped.
Well ok, this is not an advise I wrote. ...But I kind of see a pattern here.
You may try to talk to him, but I would put reasonable amount of money on the bet, that this friendship is over. At least needs some years to rest, to put it in perspective. If it looks something you miss after not even writing an e-mail or seeing the guy for year(s), than you should ask again... but just than.

I actually had a chance to talk to him the other night. He addressed the issue without me having to bring it up. He told me that he has on a short temper lately, due to not having enough alone time. He's living with his dad right now, and tells me that he feels smothered by him. In addition, my friend doesn't actually have his own room, and just has a futon in the living room. He says he hasn't been getting sufficient rest lately. I honestly could not live without a room, let alone without sleep. Still doesn't completely excuse someone being rude, but the fact that it was acknowledged non-remotely helps me get past it.
Everything seems cool now, though I might actually call him out on his attitude if it happens in the future.
