I used to have those kinds of neighbors myself, usually 'getting it on' loudly when I was trying to sleep (often at 2-3 am in the morning.) The worst thing though about this type of noise is that people often tend to make jokes about it (because it's sex) instead of taking it seriously, even though it can be as disruptive as someone talking loudly or playing their radio at a certain volume.

What I would recommend is to report it to the landlord first, particularly if it is disrupting your sleep. You might get some joking about it at first, but if they are a good landlord they will at least try to go over there and remind the couple to try to keep the noise to a minimum.

When I asked him to turn his TV down the other day (sometimes the base makes it sound like distant thunder) I asked him to get rid of the ciggarette ends that keep coming down the drainpipe here. There's a whole new bunch of them today. I'm going to have another word with him about those, and if he doesn't do it, I'll warn him I'm telling environmental health.

I just wish he didn't have such a booming voice. I hate the thought of him having sex, it's disgusting. And I hate people who litter, they're disgusting too.

Maybe your neighbors need to listen to some Slayer.

I can think of a number of them...
The Power Rangers Theme
The Pokemon theme
Any kind of death/black metal.
Honey Punch or any obnoxious nasal high pitched Jpop.
Alternatively you could go for a more direct approach and and play "I just had sex" as soon as they're done.

Well...I played Barbie Girl out loud while they were doing it, and then they got much louder. They were doing it to piss me off, no doubt. So I shouted out, "SHUT UP YOU DISGUSTING PIG".

Try filing a noise complaint with the cops. They may not take you seriously, but just give it a try anyhow.

I did that before with the previous neighbour who used to shout to himself, stomp on the floor and throw things. They didn't much care (I called them because I thought there was a massive fight).

I don't see the point in getting the police involved. I could pretend I think he's hurt, but my neighbour already knows I know he's having sex, so that tactic wouldn't work and would just look like trouble-making on my part.
