If you want to hang out with the bar crowd, you will have to go to bars to be with them, but you don't have to drink alcoholic beverages. They also have non alcoholic drinks, too.

If you really don't want to go out, you don't have to go, but remember, that will eventually lead to being a hermit. If that doesn't bother you, then okay, but if you don't want to be a total hermit, then you do occasionally have to go out.

If you want to go out, but really don't want to go to a bar, there are still the movies, and ice cream shops, etc. Don't turn these offers down all the time. By taking such offers, at least some of the time, you will stay at least partly plugged into the group.

In my case, I am a hermit type person, but I do occasionally attend family get-togethers. Because of my being a hermit, I don't have any in person social contacts, just online ones, such as here at WP, but that is enough for me.

You need to figure out just what you want regarding social contact.
- some or none
- bar scene or no bar scene
- movies, ice cream shops, etc. or no outings.

The choice is up to you, but if you keep refusing to go out, they WILL eventually stop asking, and then you will be alone. Is that what you want?

Just go. Have a drink or two, but no more.
