Definition of friend

To me, a friend is:
1. Someone whom I respect and trust, and who respects and trusts me.
2. Someone in whom I can confide when something's on my mind.
3. Someone whose company I genuinely enjoy.
All three qualifiers must be met.

This is true.
As an example, I would also suggest the person not only trusts and respects you... but tries to understand ASD so they can appreciate you. I have encountered people who say they are friends but easily get upset over ASD symptoms (I'm polite and not a bad friend) that I display or communicate. That particular person does not want to understand that and instead faults me for my shortcomings. Not a true friend.
How are you all able to explain friendship so easily? Everytime I think of the word friendship my mind either goes blank or start spiraling like crazy for a supposed "right answer". I don't have a definition and I only go by what people have told me is a friendship.
I have that problem with friends, love, telling who my enemies are, etc. Can you feel a friendship or something? If someone said they were my friend I still wouldn't know it unless they fit some definition someone else told me.
