I have a friend of 25 years. Like all relationships, our friendship went through the
stages of friendship and survived the highs and lows of having to interact with each other.
I think what made it survive was a statement we both agreed upon.

We told one another..."No matter what, I will be there for you.." That was in a way
a commitment to stick it out through thick and thin. We did and will continue to do so in the
future.

Acquaintances, I have many. A friend, only one.
