I have taken in two homeless cats, both are dead now, but they were my best friends.

Btw, cats are NOT aspie by default. I have one cat atm which is clearly autistic. She has poor motor skills, is weird, have bad perception for a cat, she's clumsy and she is in her own world all the time, pretty much. Her walking style is stiff and funny, she falls down when trying to make a simple jump up into my lap and she has clearly compulsive behaviour. She gets very upset by whistles and high frequency noises, she totally freaks out in fact and acts very abnormal for a cat. She wants to be in the same room as me almost 24/7 but she usually don't allow anyone to touch her, then she bites and runs away. My other, normal, cats were nothing like that. They communicated with me directly.

The idea about cats being aspie is a BS myth.

I thought it was a clever marketing ploy.

I have a cat, usually. My dear Slinky was eaten by coyotes when I lived up on the mountian (I live in rural Oregon in the Pacific Northwest) so I adopted another cat from the shelter when I could bear to take in another animal. I got the cat home and found it gnawing on my knuckles every morning, and I mean breaking skin and hitting bone. I went back to the shelter and they told me the old man had been dead for quite some time before his son found him and let the cat out.

he doesn't bite anymore, but what a martinet about me going to bed and getting up!

My last kitten was my best friend and "baby." We used to snuggle and have "mama-baby time."

He died in March, only 9 months old. I'm getting a new kitten today. I believe I'm finally ready for it. I'm very excited!

I've always had easier relationships with cats. We bond. We communicate. It's amazing.

Don't take life so seriously. It isn't permanent!

whitetiger! how exciting, another cat! I have always had to have a bit of 'grieving time' after one cat leaves and I am ready for another. Once you think of a good name, please let us know.
