Does anyone meet up in Birmingham U.K anymore?

Yes, we'll have to see what other replies this thread generates, if theres enough people interested from in / around the Birmingham area, then a meet up in Birmingham could be arranged sometime.

I would also be up for meeting in Birmingham and would rather it be organized on WP than AV. The people on AV are mostly alot older than me and I don't have much in common with them and I quickly lost interest in that site shortly after I joined.

There seems to be a fair ammount of interest in this, what locations would you guys prefer to meet in? Somewhere like a pub or a museum would be fine with me, if we could get some ideas and come to an agreement on a location, we could actually go on and organize something.

Indeed, I think there's potential interest for a meet in Birmingham , as, theres a thread for a meet in london & the potential for Birmingham was briefly mentioned.

A meet in Birmingham would be fairly easy to get to for those living outside of Birmingham/west midlands as its fairly central to the UK.
I've attended Birmingham meets on other forums which had members attending from as far away as Manchester, but mostly from the county's outside the west midlands such as Staffs, Warwicks's , Nott's, Worc's, etc, as well as a majority of members from Birmingham.

Time of meet would ideally be around mid-day ? as to allow those travelling from afar plenty of time to catch their train/bus back home, -
On an urban exploration forum meet I attended, the mostly male members knew each other quite well, so the gathering for that was at a pub in the evening as the nature of that forum involved a lot of travelling to locations where they'de accomodate each other depending on location of exploration during daylight hours, so as they knew each other they'de arrange to accomodate those from afar.

So, to summarize, IMO a mid-day meeting for this sort of forum would be most suited for all.

As for place to gather, a museum or similar sounds good to start, then maybe straight on to a pub still within limits of B'ham city centre near to rail station.
But again, thats just a suggestion & as to gain more interest on this subject from other members, location, times, etc, could be debated via posts on this thread, then possibly a new thread started if enough generated interested members reply to this thread as to express an interest.

I'm happy for someone else to take the lead on arranging this..., possibly the opening post member Ben if he's still around ? Or if not a more established member of this forum who's location is birmingham ?

I'm only working part time atm and I'm easy so I can go with the flow. Any time you guys plan I'm sure I can make it happen.
