Hey your just choosing to be depressed. All you have to do is get up, and go do something. I was feeling down one day and just decided F this, I want to have a good time so I did. I don't understand why other people don't do that. People blame being depressed for everything when it is their CHOICE!
(by the way all of what I said was a joke)

People lots of times assume everyone is like them, so if they are able to do something or get over something they assume you should be able to.

Which only makes those who do suffer really resent such people for coming off as complete and utter a**holes, and unapologetic a**holes at that.

Hey you said you thought anyone can do anything

I'm talking about that situation at hand. I didn't mean illogical irrational things. I have stated before I am very rational and logical. I meant about depression and emotions, anyone can feel the way they want to and I am a firm believe that anyone can do anything in the realms of the subject. Do not try phoney arguments over me.

That is not logical at all. I'm afraid you are very deluded. If you believe it is possible for you to "feel the way you want to" why don't you let me hold your hand to a scalding stove for several minutes and see if you can maintain your composure. Psychological pain is really not a whole lot different from physical pain, so much so that it can be scientifically documented that one often leads to the other.

At one time perhaps we did have that level of control, shut off the pain using simply our minds.
Maybe one day we will again? That would be a day to remember.

For now, I know that I have tried to will myself to get over it. Self delusion can be a powerful tool sometimes.. but often it does little good.

But realistically- if you can feel the way you want to in this matter, then why not stop feeling socially awkward? Why not become a smooth talking NT with all the friends in the world?
