Hmmmm… People and peoples opinions in Pubs …… .
Hard to select friends in that environment . Sometimes overhearing conversations in Pubs , if you are within range and have a common thought to express . As a offhand comment , without appearing to be paying attention to them.
That is directly pertinent to their conversation , can eventually get you a invite into their conversation . By virtue of casual responses . But this is no guarantee, if no corresponding response is made back , then best to keep to yourself at that point in time. But some deal of care is done in doing this , as it can backfire and a response by the member of the group might just say “ mind your own business” , it is a risk , and often trying to make friends can be a risk . But once in a while commonality of similiar situations can start a conversation with strangers . Just do not appear over eager , and do not expect success . . . . . All you can do is hope one time or The other there might be some kind of synergy.

No hes not right you always have to make some effort to get to know new people.
