i claim christianity is "bad" yes, but i said nothing about converting anyone to an atheist point of view.. you seem quite sure atheists have no morals, yet say the crusades are behind us? :p i'm Agnostic not Atheist & if your "God" is truly omnipotent, omniscient & benevolent, then He will surely understand my reasons & forgive me
Presumably you wouldn't though, instead insisting i "save my soul" ?

1) I did NOT say atheists have no morals, and nor did I intend to imply that – sorry if I did. I have friends who are atheists, friends who are Christians, friends who are agnostic and friends who are Muslim. ALL of those people have morals. Perhaps I should have said, “Christians have morals which they believe have eternal consequences”.
My point was that it was POSSIBLE banning Christianity would create an amoral society, because atheists don’t have the threat of hell that Christians do. I didn’t say it was CERTAIN it would create an amoral society. I could equally say the nature of some of the material in the Bible makes Christians more likely to be bigots but that doesn’t make it any more likely to be true.
2) I went solely on what you said, not whether you are an atheist or an agnostic. Your religion or lack therof isn’t really relevant in this case.
3) What does it matter if I’m a Christian, an atheist, or whatever? Surely the logic and reasoning behind what I say is the important thing?
4) Yes, I said the crusades are behind us – by several centuries. That’s a long time for Christianity to make a better name for itself, yet agnostics and atheists bring it up again and again as if it were some unforgivable sin that makes it worse than any other religion. It would be like me not trusting a 35 year-old because they told a lie as a child. Come on! If anybody is going to criticise a religion for what it has done, let it be a recent event. Then, at least, we will be able to see if it was a one-off or a general trend.
5) I think most forums do not allow religious discussions because such threads tend to turn into flame-fests, not because impressionable people (children or adults alike) may or may not visit the site. You’ll notice I have remained civil while expressing my point of view.
6) You say Christianity is dangerous for its ministering nature. If a religion or faith was ministering that everyone should buy ice creams to give to people on the street, would you object to that as well, or would you find the nearest believer and enjoy the free ice cream?

Back to the topic in hand. Maybe it’s a way to find reassurance that people with Autism are accepted in society, that there isn’t a definite, black-and-white divide.
