are you a "gypso"? what is the slang term for a [trucking] company driver?

Not sure, I am not familiar with that term. I use to drive a Haz Mat truck with a cargo of a flammable nature. I just kept it all these years just in case I needed it again.

I do, but I don't know for how long. (Losing my sight). I want to move to a city with awesome public transport.

When I was young, I was scared of driving. I'm willing to bet it's because my mother was an alcoholic and had many near death experiences from driving drunk because I believed that I wouldn't be able to control a car. I finally got my license when I was 23. So, I've only been driving for 8 years.

It the biggest part of my life. I drive them, mod them, race and build them. I have multiple depending on what I need, work, pleasure, winter etc. Faster and bigger the better. Been messing w/ cars since I was 3, build / restore them, have a degree in it. Will never own a foreign front wheel drive cookie cutter econobox, only performance vehicles. I have a bad addiction for speed. Need the liscence for hauling equipment, otherwise I would have to walk to work and I would only make peanuts. I don't like peanuts.

<---------- This guy does!

Where I live you kind of need one... there isn't really any public transport to speak of. I got mine when I was 17, I've never had any problems with driving, but when I was 16 my parents were worried I might and made me wait a year. Actually, they wanted me to wait until 18 but I managed to talk them down a year.

Parallel parking is really difficult, from what i understand... and that could be a dealbreaker for me if i try to get a license

I'm 20 years old and still haven't gotten my driver's license yet even though I should have already gotten one like most of my peers in my age group. I'm planning on getting my own license and my own car so I don't have to be a burden on asking and bumming rides from my relatives and being peacefully left alone to transport myself on where I need to go when I drive. I just need to have someone who has the time and patience to teach me to drive a vehicle.
