-Common phrases that are inherently contradictory such as:
"It is cold as Hell outside."
When people say things like this, I have trouble registering the things they say afterwards because my brain just won't stop trying to force the phrase to make sense.
-Sets of two common phrases that everyone seems to accept but contradict each other such as:
"Long distance relationships never work out." and "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."
There are plenty of people who would agree with both of these statements at different times, and believe both wholeheartedly. I have some set talking styles that I bust out when talking to different types of people, but opposing statements like these make it difficult for me to figure out which style will be the most comfortable to others.
